Esto comenzó con un sueño, un sueño de crear un club de fútbol que sea un reflejo de nuestra comunidad, de mi ciudad natal. Todo lo que hemos podido lograr en estos últimos seis años, de comenzar en Fort Lauderdale, en el Chase Stadium, y le quiero dar las gracias a todos los de Fort Lauderdale que hicieron posible nuestra estancia por tantos años ahí. Pero no solamente somos soñadores, somos hombres que cumplimos con nuestra palabra.
This began with a dream—a dream of creating a football club that reflects our community, my hometown. Everything we’ve been able to achieve over the past six years, starting in Fort Lauderdale at Chase Stadium—and I want to thank everyone in Fort Lauderdale who made our time there for so many years possible. But we are not only dreamers—we are men who keep our word.

We promised Miami, our fans, that we would build a club that, when people talk about soccer in the United States of America, they would think of Inter Miami’s pink—and we delivered. When they told us we were crazy, we promised we would sign the best player in the world—and your number 10 plays here. We promised, on the steps of Miami City Hall, that we would build a stadium that would be the envy of all soccer stadiums in the United States—and here we are tonight, opening NU Stadium.

Good night, Miami. I'd like to repeat some things in English. This was born of a dream, and this was built on the shoulders of the generation that preceded us, on a generation of our parents seeking freedom in the greatest country on earth.
