The Inter Miami CF Academy presented by Baptist Health is returning to competitive play this weekend following winter break. Notably, the U-17 and U-15 groups will return to action against MLS NEXT opposition, taking on Nashville SC.
Coaches and players alike have been hard at work preparing for a strong return to the pitch. For U-17 head coach Javier Morales, this weekendās match is an opportunity to put that hard work and preparation into practice.
āWe are very excited, especially after a long break. Itās gonna be the first game we play [of the new year] and itās against an MLS team. I think the guys have been working really, really hard, so now we are ready to go,ā said Morales.
One of Moralesā players echoed the sentiment, citing the teamās process leading back into competitive play.Ā
āWeāve been thinking about the tactics, preparing mentally and physically. Weāre really looking forward to the game and hoping to get these three points,ā said U-17 player Cesar AbadĆa.
Ahead of Saturdayās matches at the Inter Miami CF Training Center, U-15 player Daniel Pinter shared that he feels the team is ready for this matchup.Ā
āOur team and our coaches have been preparing us very well mentally this week. Our training sessions have been even more competitive, so weāre really excited to play Nashville this weekend,ā said Pinter. āWe expect it to be a really competitive game, and hopefully, we can get the win.ā
